Let's Go Stamps

The guys at work and I went to see our local football team, the Stampeders, play our rivals, the Edmonton Eskimos.  It was lots of fun.

So with the Stamps colours being Red, White and Black it was difficult to find some paper to work with my layout. So I went to my scraps pile where I was able to find several pieces of 12 inch scraps that carried those colour in various patterns. Perfect! I know it is very theme specific but it worked for me. Luckily I was able to find some football themed stickers in my stash to help pull it all together!

I wanted all my letters to black but the letters I wanted to use for the GO were red which didn't work.  So I took out my Copic Maker to colour it black but it was too streaky for my liking.  So out came the Black Stickles.  Now I was happy.  But only the word as GO glittered looked wierd to me.  So I decided to glitter the two arrows which were already black and that seemed to balance things out for me.

Making of our Christmas Tree

I've been wanting to do a Making of Our Christmas Tree layout for some time but usually I get so excited when it comes time to put up our Christmas Tree, that I forget to take pictures! Well this year I finally remembered! Go figure it's the year I decided to put the tree in front of the windows which made the pictures a little difficult to take but I am happy I did it none the less!

I printed all my photos in vertical format and then lined them up in order so that you could see the progression and then finished it off with the final picture in a one size large format. I find that really emphasizes the final photo.

I decided to edge the top and bottom of my photos with Bakers Twine, for some reason it just seemed to tie everything together perfectly! The ornament was made with naked chipboard and painted with crackle paint and then coated with glossy accents.  I know the photo doesn't show it very well but it really looks like a vintage glass ornament from my Grandmother's tree.

New Do

Woohoo! A layout done entirely with scraps! I had all this scraps leftover from a layout I did awhile ago and because they all co-ordinated and were decent sizes I kept them.  I sure am happy I did as they worked perfectly for this layout!

I didn't want to mat this photo in a traditional manner so I took our some tissue paper I had leftover from a gift I had wrapped and folded a bunch of layered sheets to act as a mat.  I then nested in some doilies and and some die cut flowers and tada!  Looks pretty good if I do say so myself!
